๐ธ New to the Spa? Here’s What to Expect on Your First Visit
Written by Avalon and Ewan
If you’ve never been to a spa before, you might be wondering what it’s really like — will it be relaxing or awkward? Will you know what to do? What should you expect during your treatment?
At Rebel Esthetics, we want your first spa experience to be comfortable, enjoyable, and something you look forward to again and again. We’ve put together a simple guide to help you feel confident and excited for your visit.
1. Booking Your Appointment
You can book your appointment online, by phone, or in person. If you’re unsure which treatment to choose, don’t hesitate to ask — our friendly staff can recommend the perfect service for your needs and answer any questions.
2. Arrival and Check-In
When you arrive, you’ll check in at the front desk. We may ask you to fill out some forms or updates your contact information. If the weather is wet or snowy, it’s requested that you remove your footwear.
3. Preparing for Your Treatment
Depending on your service, you might be given a robe to change into. For certain treatments, you may be asked to remove jewelry, shoes, clothing or undergarments. Your comfort and privacy are our top priorities, soyou’ll always be guided on what to do and encouraged to share any questions or concerns.
4. The Treatment Room Experience
Your esthetician will explain the treatment, talk with you about sensitivities and expectations and answer any last-minute questions. During the service, they’ll check in with you to make sure the pressure, temperature, and overall comfort are just right.
5. Relax and Enjoy
This is your time to unwind! Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and let the calming environment, gentle touch, and soothing scents wash away your stress. Professional treatments not only feel amazing but also provide benefits like healthier skin, improved circulation, and deep relaxation.
6. After Your Treatment
When your treatment ends, your therapist may offer tips for aftercare or recommend products to help you maintain results at home. You can take your time getting dressed and meet your esthetician either outside of the room or up at the front desk.
7. Booking Your Next Visit
Spa care is most effective when done regularly. We’d love to help you create a personalized schedule that fits your lifestyle and keeps your skin and body feeling great. When the receptionist takes your payments at the front desk, they will ask you if you would like to book your next visit. We will always do our best to find you a time that works within your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
Nope! Just yourself. However, some people choose to bring their knitting or a book to read during their pedicures.
Q: What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing. We’ll guide you on what to remove if needed. If getting a pedicure with polish, we do recommend you wear sandal that are easily put on, kike flip flops.
Q: Can I eat or drink before my treatment?
Light meals are best. You may want to avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand.
Q: Do I need to prepare for my treatment?
TFor most services, we do not recommend any preparation before your appointment. Please avoid cutting your own nails. Trust us - we have seen it all and it's better for us to properly trim your nails so we can ensure an even finished look. Also refrain from using retinols and exfoliants for several days prior to facial waxing.
Q: I am getting a pedicure and I forgot to shave my legs!
Don’t sweat it! Hair is natural and doesn’t bother us at all! This is a judgement-free zone!
Q: I have a brazilian wax booked, but I started my period unexpectedly. Can I still get waxed?
Yes! But keep in mind that you may be more sensitive to pain than usual. We an do our best to work around a pad, but using a tampon or menstrual cup is sinmpler, especially if your flow is heavy.
